3 Ways to Make a Girl Laugh

It's true: Being funny is a very attractive trait for a guy to have. It is often said if you can get a girl
laughing, you can get her to do anything.

But how do you actually get her laughing? What do you do?

In my experience as a social confidence coach, most guys who want to be funnier will employ an ineffective approach: They'll try to find funny lines and routines to memorize and use in conversations.

The problem is even if you manage to fit one of these lines into a conversation and make it seem genuine, this still won't make you a funny guy as a whole.

It will only make you a funny guy for a few minutes, until you run out of funny lines to say. After that, you have a problem.

With this in mind, I'd like to share with you three effective ways to make a girl laugh, which entails generating humor on the spot, not memorizing routines, so you can rely on them anyplace and anytime.

1. Think outside the box.

Humor is largely generated by thinking out of the box and making unusual associations. And this is something you can do deliberately.

It can be a bit tricky at first if you're not used to it, but it will become second nature with practice.
Do this during conversations: Whatever the conversation topic, try to put aside conventional logic and approach it a new, unconventional way.

For instance, if you're talking about pets, pets with emotional problems is a funny and creative topic. You can talk about this if you want to and spice up the discussion.

this trait is you'll truly be funny.”

2. Be more spontaneous.

Besides thinking outside the box, humor is also often the result of simply being spontaneous. This means you say whatever pops into your head first without thinking too much.

Frequently what comes to mind first is somewhat unusual or creative or unexpected, which offers the potential to also be very funny and elicit laughter. This is why it's a good idea to be spontaneous.

The problem is many guys hesitate to be spontaneous because they worry they will say something inappropriate. That's just a risk you're gonna have to assume.

It's the cost of being funny, and I can tell you from experience it's worth taking it.

3. Hang out with guys who are funny.

Being funny is to a large extent contagious. If you interact a lot with guys who joke around a lot, think creatively and don't take thinks too seriously, you'll gradually become this way as well.

Conversely, if you interact with guys who only discuss deep topics in a very logical way, you'll find it hard when interacting with a girl to be funny and make her laugh.

So make friends who are funny and hang out with them. Not only is it going to be a lot of fun, but it will train you to be more amusing as well.

I'm not saying you should ditch your friends who aren't funny, but do try to find a balance.

Practice these strategies and your sense of humor will develop. What's best about actually acquiring this trait is you'll truly be funny and you won't have to fake it with memorized lines.

You'll be able to make all sorts of girls laugh in all sorts of situations, and you'll reap the benefits as a result.

Guys, are you naturally funny, or do you find yourself memorizing jokes to impress women? What advice can you offer to men who are struggling?
